Sigmund Lau

91, of Carrick, passed away on January 31, 2019. Born in Polish Hill, Pittsburgh on December 10, 1927, beloved son to the late Sigmund and Sabina Lau. Loving husband of 56 years to the late Dorothy Lau who passed in 2003. Caring father to Karen (Clinton) Shields, Kristine (George) Nath and Kimberly Lau. Proud Grandfather to 9, Great-grandfather to 16, and Great-great- grandfather to 1. Also survived by one sister Dolores Zdobinski. Preceded in death by one son Keith Lau and his wife Ruth, one sister Clarice Sparks and one brother Gerald Lau.

Sigmund proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a City Firefighter for 35 years where he served as Captain for 27.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 12-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services; 2935 Brownsville Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15227

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Catholic Community of South Pittsburgh, St Wendelin Parish.

Interment will be held at St Wendelin Cemetery
